IDF enters Nablus

At 01.30 on Thursday night, the Israeli Defence Force entered the West Bank city of Nablus with over 100 tanks to conduct house-to-house searches in the aftermath of the recent wave of terrorist bombings in Israel. Claims that the tanks entered firing indiscriminately are proven false by the casualty list.

Three people died in the confrontation, which would indicate that in an operation of this scale, restraint was being used by the IDF, keen to improve its image abroad after a number of incidents in which civilians were killed.

The IDF has adopted a policy of punishing the families of suicide bombers, namely by demolishing houses where explosive devices, firearms or any material indicating illegal activity are found.
