On Thursday President Vladimir Putin held a meeting with Interior Minister Boris Gryzlov, as well as Rashid Nurgaliyev, First Deputy Head of the Russian Interior Ministry and head of the Criminal Investigation Department, in connection with his appointment to that post.
At the beginning of the meeting the president noted that the Criminal Investigation Department is one of the Interior Ministry's most important components.
This is the direction of its main tasks, stressed the President, in particular, combating crime, by the resolution of which the ministry's activity is evaluated, as a whole. "The country's population expects efficient work precisely in that direction," said the head of state.
Vladimir Putin suggested that the entire complex of problems connected with the work of the Criminal Investigation Department, including the issues of material and technical supplies, be discussed.
