Russian GAZ to Sell Cars in Nigeria

The Gorky Car Plant has signed a contract to supply GAZ cars to Nigeria. The company's press office yesterday told Rosbalt's correspondent that a large consignment of cars will be sent to Nigeria as early as the beginning of 2003.

According to the press office, the agreement to supply GAZel and Volga GAZ-3110 cars, as well as small GAZ-3307 and GAZ-3308 Sadko lorries to Nigeria was signed at the International Trade Fair in Lagos. The fair was held between November 1 and 7.

GAZ cars were also supplied to Nigeria during the Soviet era. The new period of partnership began in 2001 when a test delivery of 130 GAZel cars was successfully sold in Nigeria. The signing of contracts with African countries is part of GAZ's programme to enter promising new sales markets.
