GAZ automobile producer posts net profits

Over the first nine months of 2002, net profits of the GAZ automobile producer amounted to RUR42m (about $1.32m) against RUR44.898m (about $1.41m) over 2001 in total, the press service of the company reported to RBC. The company's creditor indebtedness was RUR1.824bn (about $57.32m) as of October 1, 2002. Over the first three quarters of 2002, GAZ transferred RUR3.552bn (about $111.63m) to budgets of all levels and to various state extra-budgetary funds, which was RUR895.3m (about $28.14m) more than in the corresponding period of 2001.
