During his trip to the Mashinostroyeniye research-and-production enterprise (NPO) in the Moscow Region town of Reutov, Russian President Vladimir Putin got an insight into the company's activities and saw several departments.
In one of the enterprise's departments the Head of State saw a light carrier rocket of the "Strela" type which is being tested now and a stand for thermo-strength tests.
Besides, an assembly site of the joint Russian-Indian "BraMos" enterprise was demonstrated to Putin. It is used to assembly the "Yahont" anti-ship cruise missiles.
According to Director General of the Mashinostroyeniye research-and-production enterprise Gerbert Yefremov, the "Yahont" missiles were successfully tested in Russia and adopted by the Russian Navy. Now the Mashinostroyeniye research-and-production enterprise "can show its customers Russian ships equipment," Yefremov said.
According to him, by the end of this year test launches of the Yahont missiles will be conducted from the Indian Navy ships.
