Duma Budget Committee starts work on 2003 budget draft

The State Duma Committee on Budget and Taxes is beginning the preparationof the government version of the 2003 budget draft for the first readingtoday. The government submitted the Federal Bill on the Federal Budget for 2003 tothe State Duma on August 25, and the first reading of this document hasbeen preliminary scheduled for September 26. Thorough analysis of the mainfinancial document of the country for next year by the subcommittee onbudget preceded the meeting of the Budget Committee. Following this work, the State Duma Budget Committee, which will holdanother meeting on September 19, will prepare its recommendations on thebudget draft. .
