The international scientific forum, which opened in Khabarovsk on Monday discusses the prospects of the development of transport in the Far Eastern region.
The forum will last till September 27, RIA Novosti was told in the organising committee. Two conferences are planned to be held in its context: "Urgent Problems of Creating and Using Compound Internal Combustion Engines" and "Automobile Transport of the Far East - 2002." The speakers at the forum discuss the problems of the development of the transport system in the region, the problems of reforming public transport and other questions.
The forum is attended, as was pointed out in the organising committee, by officials from the Russian Railway Ministry, representatives of transport departments of the regional administrations, scientists from the Russian Federation and China.
