Tobolsk (Siberia) hosts an exhibition of shackles and convict seals to mark the 200th anniversary of the Interior Ministry.
The employees of the museum and the books' house, a local branch of the Tobolsk State Historical and Architectural Memorial Museum where the exhibition is held, staged a special exposition at the request of the municipal Interior Department. It features ancient documents from the 16-volume Statute Book of the Russian Empire, a historical essay to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Russian Interior Ministry, convict shackles, seals for prisoners and reports of prison administration.
The contemporary history of the Interior Ministry is told through documents, awards and photographs, contributed to the show by police veterans.
