Russian Television Company NTV Begins Broadcasting in USA

Television channel NTV WORLD, the international channel of the Russian television company NTV, announced today that it has signed a contract with Echostar, a leading satellite operator in the USA which supplies satellite television under the trademark DishNetwork. In accordance with the document, from September 25 Echostar is to begin broadcasting an international version of the channel NTV in the USA via DishNetwork. It will be known as NTV America.

It is expected that television viewers will be able to watch all the best NTV programmes from Russia as well as programmes made in the USA for NTV America.

General Director of NTV WORLD Steven Coppen said that the agreement with Echostaris 'the beginning of a new stage in the development of the international NTV network. It is extremely important for us that the clientele of DishNetwork includes tens of thousands of Russian subscribers.'

The Public Relations Department of NTV WORLD has devised an advertising campaign whereby viewers who have already subscribed to DishNetwork can watch NTV America free of charge until October 15 . It is also expected that NTV will soon start broadcasting to Australia and New Zealand.
