In 2003 economic growth in Russia is expected to amount to 4.9 percent and by the end of this year - 4,4 percent. Such a forecast was made by the International Monetary Fund (IMF), which issued a report on the world economic development.
The Fund experts note that Russia outpaces considerably the USA, European Union and Japan in terms of economic growth. As far as the CIS countries are concerned, Russia also outpaces many of them in the terms of GDP growth. At the same time, according to IMF estimates, the economic growth in Russia is stable.
