The Russian Finance Ministry will make, on Friday, a regular payment to the tune of 16,496,000 pounds sterling on account of the debt to the International Monetary Fund.
A finance ministry representative reported that according to the original schedule of payments the money was planned to be transferred on Saturday, September 28. But since it is a day-off it was decided to make a payment earlier.
The forthcoming payment will be the third and the last in September. As of January 1, 2002 the Russian debt to the IMF was estimated at 7.5 billion dollars. In January-August more than one billion dollars was transferred on account of the debt to the IMF.
The IMF reports that Russia is fully implementing its obligations on the earlier given Fund's credits.
