The oil and gas companies send their workers back out to sea to offshore operations as Tropical Storm Isidore swerved past Texas and moved onshore in Louisiana.
Among them Transocean Inc., ConocoPhillips, Royal Dutch/Shell Group's Shell Oil, BP, Apache Corp., Devon Energy, Anadarko Petroleum Corp. All these companies are going to renew oil and gas exploration, to reach the level of extracting before the Tropical Storm, to cover losses.
According to the Minerals Management Service, 90 percent of the Gulf of Mexico production, about 1.5 million barrels of oil each day and 13.5 billion cubic feet of natural gas per day, was shut in as Isidore swept through this week. Energy companies now have to deal with weather-related problems at refineries as the storm moves across land.
