As of Friday morning, there were 33 fires covering an aggregate space of 56.4 hectares in 10 districts of the Moscow region. Over the past 24 hours, one fire was extinguished and the space covered by fires reduced by almost 4 hectares, reported the press service of the Governor of the Moscow region.
The fires burning in the Moscow region today pose no threat to populated areas and fire hazardous facilities, said the press service. The closest the fires get to them is about 10 kilometers away. Mosenergo did not turn off electricity in high-voltage power lines, nor did it stall gas supplies to the population.
As of today, the firefighting effort in the Moscow region involves 2,281 people and 693 pieces of equipment. 209 people have been called to account for various infringements, including those involving the lighting of fires.
