Russian President interested in economic effect of tax reduction

On Tuesday Russia's President Vladimir Putin has had a working meeting with Alexei Kudrin, Vice-Premier and the Finance Minister.

The Head of the State asked the Vice-Premier to inform him about the budget address, i.e. "a three-year plan of specific measures." The president said that numerous discussions of the current economic situation led to the following conclusion, i.e. "the planned tax reduction has been implemented at the present moment." In his words, "it is time now to assess the influence of the adopted decisions on the economy and budget revenues." Putin stressed at the same time that "it does not necessarily mean that we must forget about the reduction of the tax burden on the economy in the future." Moreover, the president asked Kudrin to inform him of the debt payment to be made for the order fulfilled by the defence complex, recalling that necessary measures should be taken to resolve the above-mentioned problem until October 9.

During the meeting the president was also interested in the results of the recent Moscow session of the FATF, Financial Action Task Force.
