Microsoft official comments on Ukrainian software market

The Ukrainian software market is non-license for 87 percent, head of the department for strategic projects of the Microsoft office in CIS Yevgeny Danilov stated.

According to him, the share of the pirate market in Russia is 87 percent, too. Danilov referred to a research paper by Business Software Alliance (USA). However, he stressed that there was no precise statistics on this matter. According to Danilov, the share of pirate software market is always less in central regions than in province.

According to the data of the association of Ukrainian software producers, the volume of the software market in Ukraine will be $65m in 2002 against $40m in 2001, the UFS news agency reported.
