Among other things, the Sverdlovsk Region and Bulgaria will cooperate in atomic power production. Bulgaria counts on assistance, on the part of the Sverdlovsk Region's professionals, repairing atomic power plants. This was, among other things, discussed by Simeon Saxe-Coburg Gotha, the Prime Minister of Bulgaria, and Eduard Rossel, the Sverdlovsk Region's Governor. Mr. Rossel is now in the middle of his official visit to Bulgaria.
Eduard Rossel and Simeon Saxe-Coburg Gotha also discussed the activities of the workgroup created to prepare the programme of cooperation. The group was formed under an agreement between the Sverdlovsk Region's Governor and Georgy Pyrvanov, Bulgaria's President. Yesterday, during their meeting the two leaders agreed direct economic connections, not unlike those that existed in the time of the USSR, needed to be restored. Bulgarian partners are interested in receiving road machinery, railcars, and medical equipment. Concluding the meeting, Simeon Saxe-Coburg Gotha said he was sure economic connections between his country and the Middle Urals would keep developing and that the opening of Bulgaria's Consulate General in Yekaterinburg would speed up the process.
Tomorrow, Mr. Rossel will meet with the Governor of the Sophia Region before returning home.
