Transneft to Increase Transit of Azerbaijani Oil Through Russia

The Transneft oil transportation company prepared suggestions on increasing transit of Azerbaijani oil through Russia, president of the company Semyon Vainshtok reported at the event Russian Oil and Gas Week today. According to him, these documents contain a proposal on increasing transit of Azerbaijani oil via the Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline to 30 million tons per year and further to 50 million tons. The current transit of Azerbaijani oil amounts to 5 million tons.

Additionally, Vainshtok pointed out that in the future, it was planned to increase transit of Kazakh oil through Russia to 30 million tons per year. According to a governmental agreement, the current volume of Kazakh oil pumped through Russia is 17.5 million tons.
