A presentation of Utair airline took place today in Hanti-Mansiisk. This is now the official name of the company formerly known as Tiumen Airline. The main office of Utair will be in the capital of the autonomous region, Hanti-Mansiisk, a Rosbalt correspondent reports. Previously the company was based in Surgut.
According to General Director of the airline Andrei Martirosov, the renaming of the airline cost USD 3 million. He told journalists that 'the main secret to the new name is that it cannot be decoded: it is not political, it is based entirely on the marketing interests of the airline, it is easy to remember, it sounds reasonably okay and is accepted by both Russians and foreigners.'
Governor of the region Alexander Filipenko said he hoped that 'the successful development of Utair would continue.' He said that the airline had some of the best equipment in the country.
At the present time Utair is working in Russia as well as abroad, offering 110 passenger flights to more than a hundred different destinations.
