In the Russian Central Bank's latest estimates, the trade turnover between Russia and countries outside the former USSR made up $86,624,000,000 in January-August, 2002, which is $3,021,000,000 up against the similar period in 2001.
Russian exports went down by $1,856,000,000 and amounted to $56,773,000,000, according to the Central Bank. Imports amounted to $29,851,000,000 , i.e. increased by nearly $5 billion over the first 8 months of 2002.
Russia's foreign trade debit for January-August, 2002, makes $26,922,000,000, whereas last year's January-August figure was $33,655,000,000.
