Moscow is currently hosting negotiations between Russia's President Vladimir Putin and Morocco's King Mohammed VI.
Russia's President said, "he was very glad that he had an opportunity" to discuss all directions of the two countries' cooperation with Morocco's King. Specialists from both countries have prepared "a whole set of highly important documents" for this meeting, Putin stated. He believes that the visit by Mohammed VI to Moscow will give a powerful incentive to the development of bilateral relations".
Russia and Morocco have established "very good traditions of friendship and cooperation," Russia's President pointed out. He also said that Russia "knew and remembered" the father and grandfather of the current king of Morocco very well. The activity of the king's grandfather was crucial not for Arab countries alone, but also for the whole world, as he was one of the founders of the non-alignment movement, Putin stressed.
Putin also noted the intensity of Russia-Morocco contacts on top levels between ministerial and parliamentary representatives.
Morocco's King, in his turn, thanked Russia's President for "the warm words about his father and grandfather" and stressed that he "would do his best to make Russia-Morocco relations even more effective and friendly". "It is time to make our cooperation more specific," Morocco's sovereign stated.
