In compliance with a Russo-Indian intergovernmental agreement, the Russian Uralvagonzavod production plant has assembled 124 T-90S tanks thus completing the first stage of the contract. According to Boris Mineyev, the chief of the factory's public and mass media relations department, the Uralvagonzavod company is now preparing to start the second stage of the Indian contract which relates to supplies of T-90S components.
The second stage of the contract envisages that the Indian side use Uralvagonzavod's components to independently assemble another 176 tanks. In Late October, 40 Indian experts will arrive in Nizhny Tagil to learn how to assemble T-90S tanks.
