Vyacheslav Fetisov: Tuva considerably expands opportunities

Owing to the improvement of transport infrastructure in the Tuva Republic, local residents will have much greater opportunities, first deputy chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Social Policy, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Continental Hockey League, honored master of hockey sports, Vyacheslav Fetisov said.

"There is a huge potential in the republic in the form of natural resources. The locals will have many more opportunities with the development of the transport infrastructure," Vyacheslav Fetisov told Pravda.Ru.

The Russian government has recently made the decision that the head of the Tuva Republic, Sholban Kara-ool, has been striving for for six years. The road between Kyzyl, Shagonar, Chadan, Khandagaity and Borshoo has been officially handed over to the rank of federal property.

The road is highly important, if not decisive, for the development of the region. With the help of the new motorway, the process to create a multiway cross-border passage between Russia and Mongolia will accelerate considerably. The road thus becomes an important milestone in the formation of a transport corridor between Europe and Asia.

"I can hardly convey all my emotions and feelings about this. I can only say that this project has taken the government six long years. Many could not even believe that it will happen, but it did happen!," the head of Tuva wrote on a blog.

In addition, the authorities of the Tuva Republic have started renovation works at a local airport.

"When roads are maintained in good condition, when railways are built, although there are no railways in Tuva, all this opens new opportunities. One needs to implement these projects as soon as possible, because people are waiting. We are developing cooperation with China, there are huge changes happening, and I think that the transport logistics will have a whole new prospect," Vyacheslav Fetisov told Pravda.Ru.
