The five major Russian industries (industrial production, construction, agriculture, transport and retail trade) reported a 3.7 percent growth in January-September of 2002, against the same period of time in 2001, the State Statistics Committee of the Russian Federation reported to RosBusinessConsulting.
In September, the output index exceeded the level of September 2001 by 2.7 percent, and in August 2002 it was 1.5 lower compared to August 2001.
In September 2002, the mentioned industries provided services in the amount of 603bn rubles (about $19bn), the industrial production growth surpassed the level of September 2001 by 5.5 percent. Talking about the period from January to September 2002, the numbers were 4.963 trillion rubles (about $156.6bn) and 4 percent respectively. The average-daily production (with the seasonal factor counted) was reported 0.4 percent higher in September 2002, against September 2001.
