Boldino Readings open in Nizhny Novgorod region

Scientific international conference of Pushkinists, Boldino Readings, opened in the Nizhny Novgorod region, the village of Bolshoe Boldino, This year, the conference is held on September 9-11.

Russia's only annual conference of Pushkinists has become a brand of the Nizhny Novgorod region. 

"The event brings together Pushkin scholars from around the world, as well as scientists, linguists, museum professionals and everyone who loves the Russian language. As the scientific adviser of the conference, Nikolai Fortunatov noted, in "The Bronze Horseman", written in Boldino, Pushkin prophetically said: "All flags will come to us!" This is the case of Boldino Readings: Pushkinists from around the world visited the conference. They came from Poland, Japan, Yugoslavia, the USA, Canada, Finland, Turkey, Serbia and other countries. This year, in addition to Russian specialists from all over the country, there are scholars of Pushkin's work from Germany and China," said the head of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Valery Shantsev. 

Professor of the University of Gottingen, Matthias Freise, Pushkinist translators from China - Professor Wang Lie (Beijing University) and Zhang Bin (Beijing Pedagogical Institute) are to deliver speeches during the conference. Scholars from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Pskov, Pyatigorsk, Vladimir, Saransk, Kostroma, Kazan and other cities of Russia will take part in the event, as well as guests from Bulgaria, Serbia, Canada, China, Germany, and teachers of Russian language and literature.
