Southern Urals solve problems of agricultural producers

Now that the summer season has started, Acting Governor of the Chelyabinsk region Boris Dubrovsky conducted a work meeting with the heads of several districts, as well as leading agricultural producers of the region. Having discussed the situation in the agricultural sector, the head of the region decided to establish a cooperative association that would build ties between farmers and processors.

Last year, 3.8 billion rubles was allocated in the Chelyabinsk region to support agricultural producers (1.6 times more than in 2012). As a result, production volumes increased by 17.4 percent. The region produced over 420,000 tons of meat and was ranked third among other regions of the country on this indicator.

"Any government support is relevant, especially today, when Russia joined the WTO, - a member of the State Duma Committee on Agrarian Policy, Svetlana Maksimova, told Pravda.Ru. - One should increase the support from the state. Agricultural production is very risky activities, and without the support from the authorities it is very hard for people to work."

The head of the region instructed to study the possibility of creating a purchasing cooperative that would provide legal services to owners of private farms, collect their milk and send it for further production. Experts and officials agreed that such an initiative would solve many problems of local farmers and increase the quantity and quality of food.

In agriculture, there is a very big problem with the organization of mediating activities, - Andrey Tumanov, the chairman of the Moscow Union of Gardeners, chief editor of Your 6 Acres newspaper, first deputy chairman of the Duma Committee on Information Policy told Pravda.Ru. - One needs to give it a civilized form, to make it white, not black business that would pay taxes. This will be more beneficial to farmers, excess profits will not go to only one conciliator."
