The Finance Ministry of Russia has made another regular payment of EUR79.44m (56.93m SDRs) to repay the debt to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the Finance Ministry's Press Service reported to RBC. The payment was made on schedule. This was the third and final payment to be made this month.
As it was reported earlier, Russia has to repay about $1.5bn to the IMF this year. According to information from the Finance Ministry of Russia, the Russian government's debt to the IMF reached $7.7bn as of January 1, 2002. Russia has already paid over $1.2bn to the IMF since January 2002.
