FATF Mission to Arrive in Moscow at End of December

A mission of FATF (Financial Action Task Force) will arrive in Moscow at the end of December 2002, the press service of the Russian committee for financial monitoring reported to RBC. Head of the committee Viktor Zubkov spoke at a meeting of the committee's board today and noted that the FATF mission was also going to visit Russia in March 2003. Zubkov reiterated he was sure that Russia would become an FATF member in June 2003.

Russia was removed from the FATF blacklist in October 2002, at the FATF fall session in Paris. At the same meeting, Russia was granted a status of an observer in this organization.
