On November 11, in Great Britain, at the conference entitled 'Business and Investment Opportunities in Russia, Victor Cherkesov, the Plenipotentiary of the President of Russia in the North-Western Federal District, will deliver his report on the social and economic development of the district. According to Lyubov Sovershayeva, Deputy Plenipotentiary, the plenary session of the conference will take place in London at the exhibition entitled 'The 300 Years of St. Petersburg: Russia Opened to the World'.
Mr. Cherkesov also plans to attend the opening of Russia's exhibit at the Barbican Centre where he is supposed to say a speech during the solemn gathering. Other contributors will include Valentina Matviyenko, a Deputy Prime-Minister of Russia; Ilya Klebanov, Minister of Industry and Science, Mikhail Piotrovsky, Director of the State Hermitage; and Valery Gergiyev, Artistic Director of St. Petersburg's Mariinsky Theatre.
According to Mrs. Sovershayeva, the administration of President's Plenipotentiary has prepared a large-scale presentation of the federal district to be held at the British exhibition. A portfolio of business proposals has been also prepared to be handed out to visitors.
'The 300 Years of St. Petersburg: Russia Opened to the World' exhibition will last through November 13.
