HP to supply pre-billing system to MTS

The Hewlett-Packard company (HP) has made a deal on supplying a pre-billing system to the Mobile TeleSystems mobile communications provider (MTS). As HP reported, the pre-billing system is designed for collecting, processing and distributing data about services of the MTS network. The implementation of the project will take place in several stages; the first of them is to be completed by the end of 2002.

Mobile TeleSystems (MTS) is a cellular communications operator under the GSM-900/1800 standard. It services over 5.7 million subscribers. MTS's licenses cover 56 regions of Russia where 104.8 people live.
