President Putin: state authority will take all necessary steps to protect citizens against terrorist extremism

Vladimir Putin has expressed confidence that the authorities will take all the necessary and adequate measures to reliably protect the citizens against terrorist violence and extremism. The president said this at the ceremony of the presentation of credentials by the ambassadors of a number of foreign countries in the Kremlin.

The head of state noted that the ambassadors of Cyprus, Tunisia, Vietnam, Japan, Hungary and Portugal are beginning to carry out their duties in Russia at a time when Russian society "is strongly upset by the consequences of the tragedy when terrorists captured hostages in the building of the Theatre Centre in Moscow." "We grieve over the innocent victims of that cruel bandit action," said Vladimir Putin.
