An international conference of investors entitled Russia Open to the World has opened in London today simultaneously with a large Russian exhibition held in preparation for St. Petersburg's tercentenary. Its participants include Russian and British persons of authority and entrepreneurs.
The conference was opened by Lord Owen who heads the council of trustees of the Open Russia organisation and Ilya Klebanov, Russia's Minister of Science, Industry, and Technologies. Also expected to speak are Viktor Cherkesov, Plenipotentiary of Russia's President in the North-Western Federal District and leaders of British public organisations and private companies. The participants include Vladimir Evtushenkov, the leader of the System financial corporation; Vladimir Kalitin, President of the Alrosa diamond company; and other Russia's entrepreneurs.
