The body of a man lay undiscovered in his apartment for 18 months, Swiss media reported Monday.
The 56-year-old man, who was not identified, died shortly before Christmas 2003, but the body was only discovered by police last month after a neighbor reported a foul smell coming from the apartment in the Geneva suburb of Les Acacias, the Tribune de Geneve reported.
The electricity was cut off after six months, during which time the television had been constantly on, the Geneva-based daily said. The body was discovered by police only weeks before the man was due to be evicted.
The corpse could only be identified from dental records.
