Judge walks up to a live news camera and resigns in Jacksonville Florida

From Associated Press, John M. Knight, a gun man, took an attorney hostage and threatened to set off a bomb. In negotiations, Knight demanded Judge Sharon Tanner resign from her position immediately.

Apparently Knight was disgruntled about a ruling the Judge had made in a case that involved Knight.

The quick thinking Judge, walked in front of a live news camera covering the hostage situation and announced that she was resigning immediately and gave no specific explanation, and then walked away. The gunman apparently fell for the story and was arrested without incident.

The Judge walked back into her courtroom, put on her judge s robes and went back to work.
