Three people were killed and one injured as a result of a bomb blast in Chechnya's Achkhoi-Martan district, reports the republic's Interior Ministry. Samashki administration head Khizir Aldamov was one of those killed in the attack.
The remote-controlled explosive device went off at 2.30 p.m. Moscow time yesterday near Samashki in Chechnya's Achkhoi-Martan district during mopping-up operations near a bridge spanning the Sunzha river, RIA Novosti's source added.
In his words, three people, including local administration head Khizir Aldamov, were killed as a result. One local resident was injured and provided with medical treatment.
Russian servicemen found and destroyed a homemade explosive device, while conducting engineering reconnaissance, the source went on to say.
In his words, terrorists also tried to kill the administration head of Starye Atagi village.
Unidentified persons fired rocket launchers at the house of local administration head Gadayev at 12.15 a.m. Moscow time the night before, RIA Novosti's source went on to say.
According to the source, a detective, who had been guarding the house, was treated for wounds.
None of Gadayev's relatives was hurt, the source noted in conclusion.
