The body of the third missing snowboarder (out of seven) has been discovered in the mountains of Kabardino-Balkaria, a North Caucasus republic in Russia known for its mountain skiing resorts, reported the southern regional center of the Russian emergencies ministry.
The bodies of another two missing snowboarders were found earlier.
According to the emergencies ministry, German specialists helped find them. They used special sensors that spotted luminescent elements planted in their clothes.
The search for the other missing snowboarders is continuing.
Presumably, seven young men from Moscow - Ilya and Vasily Smirnov, Anton Batin, Alexander Ivanov, Alexander Andryushin, Nina Pakhomova and Alexander Konkov - went for a walk to the mountains on February 10th and never returned. They lived in a private apartment, not in the mountain skiing camp, and therefore must have missed the warning about the sharply worsening weather conditions and the possibility of snow avalanche, or, simply ignored that information and left for the mountains.
Searches for the group began on February 12th after their parents said they had lost touch with their children.
