The collapse of the roof of the Transvaal Park, a water park in southwestern Moscow, killed 6 women, 12 men and 7 children, sources in the Moscow Prosecutor's Office told RBC. Twenty-four bodies were recovered from the rubble, and one man died on his way to the hospital. Now over 100 people hit by the collapse are receiving treatment in Moscow hospitals.
According to Moscow Deputy Prosecutor Vladimir Yudin, a task force for investigating the case has already seized the park's related construction documents and videotapes. The individuals who contributed to designing, building and using the building are now being interrogated. A criminal case of reckless endangerment has been filed.
As reported earlier, the roof of the water park collapsed in southwestern Moscow at 19:15 on Saturday. According to the Russian Emergencies Ministry, the collapsed roof hit an area totaling more than 5,000 square meters, with over 400 people in the building.
