An earthquake of 4.8 magnitude hit Northern Kurile Islands (the Russian Far East).
The Kamchatka seismology service informed RIA Novosti, that the earthquake took place on January 24 at 5:03 a.m. local time some 70 kilometers north of the Paramushir Isaland. The epicenter is on the depth of 40 kilometers under the sea bottom.
There is no information as for victims or damage.
