Canaries saved 2 children in Iran

Canary singing attracted rescue teams’ attention to a spot. Two children were found there under bricks. “Two children were all covered with bricks. Close to them was a broken canary cage. Birds singing attracted the rescuers, they dug the spot and found two kids”, informs Iranian agency IRNA. The birds were also saved and freed. Canaries and nightingales are very popular in countryside Iran.

Russian rescue teams who worked in Bam will finish only on Tuesday. They believe there can still be people alive under ruins, in the places not yet searched through by rescuers, even though “there is but a few spots like that left”.

The earthquake in Bam, Iran took away nearly 50,000 lives, reports AFP.
