Russian Custom officers have recently confiscated 17 kg of heroine, brought from Afghanistan The drugs were confiscated in the course of the special operation against the activities of the international criminal group dealing with smuggling of drugs from the Central Asian countries to Russia, press-secretary of the Siberian Operative Customs Aleksander Malik disclosed to a RIA Novosti correspondent on Monday.
Several people connected with drugs-trafficking were arrested in the course of the operation, the press-secretary said. According to the preliminary data, the drugs were manufactured in Afghanistan. The parcels with drugs were marked "777" (triple seven) which means a high quality heroine, he said.
The custom officers believe they administered a considerable blow to drug dealers.
