The Russian Foreign Ministry has condemned terrorist acts in Istanbul.
A statement by Aleksander Yakovenko, the official spokesman of the Russian Foreign Ministry, says: "Moscow has perceived reports on explosions near synagogues in Istanbul with concern. We resolutely condemn this terrorist attack which resulted in numerous casualties. We express our deep condolences to relatives and friends of the victims." Earlier the Russian foreign ministry reported that according to the information obtained from Russian diplomatic missions in Turkey there were no Russian citizens among victims of the explosions in Istanbul.
According to various accounts, as a result of two explosions near synagogues in the heart of Istanbul from 16 to 24 people were killed.
According to the Turkish ministry of Interior, 16 people were killed and 146 were wounded.
