Policemen seized about 3 kg of heroin carried by two narco-couriers from Kyrghyztan, sources in press service of the Russian Interior Ministry told RIA Novosti.
"Both suspects were apprehended at a railway station during a special operation," said a representative of the press service. The police investigation is under way.
Yesterday, policemen confiscated 1.6 kg of heroin from drug dealers in Tula /Central Russia/ and more than 450 grams of heroin from a passenger of a flight from Tajikistan at Vnukovo airport in Moscow, added the Interior Ministry spokesperson.
Overall, during last 24 hours, 19 cases related to seizure of large shipments of narcotics have been registered in 17 regions of Russia. Police officers confiscated 7 kg of marijuana, 1.5 kg of poppy straw, and 1 kg of raw opium.
