Law enforcers from Dagestan, one of Russia's North Caucasian republics, have arrested a criminal who was on the international wanted list, Colonel of the police Abdulmanap Musayev, who heads the press service at the Dagestani Interior Ministry, told RIA Novosti on Thursday.
Dzhabrail Temirov, who was wanted by the justice authorities for taking part in the activities of illegal armed units, was arrested in Alleroi, a village in the Nozhai-Yurt district of Dagestan's neighbour Chechnya, on Wednesday. The arrestee, who is a native of Akhar, Dagestan's Novolakskoye district, was handed over to the district prosecutor's office, Musayev reported.
Temirov is facing charges of gangsterism and being an accessory to the Chechen bandit units run by Basayev and Khattab, who attacked Dagestan's Novolakskoye district in September 1999.
Law enforcers opened a criminal case against Temirov after ousting terrorists out of the district centre of Novolakskoye and other towns of the district.
