The damage from the fire on the Russian tanker, which started on Friday night on the Volga river, amounts approximately to five million dollars, said vice-governor of the Samara region Viktor Kazakov on Monday. The tanker stood at the moorage in the town of Oktyabrsk in that region when the fire started.
According to the vice-governor, the damage will be compensated by the owners of the ship and the insurance company.
