A person suspected of being concerned in preparing a terrorist act in Moscow on July 9, 2003 has been detained in Nalchik, the capital of the Kabardin-Balkar Republic in the North Caucasus.
The RIA Novosti correspondent was told about it by press secretary of the North Caucasian operational board of the Main Department of the Russian Interior Ministry for the Southern Federal District Tamerlan Kazikhanov.
He said that the detained inhabitant of Nalchik is 25 years old. During the search of the house of his relatives there were found and confiscated two magazines to a TT pistol, two magazines to a Kalashnikov assault rifle, over seventy 7.62 mm cartridges and a muffler to a sub-machine gun.
On July 9, nearby the Imbir cafe in the centre of Moscow, militiamen detained a woman who said she had an explosive device in her bag.
The militiamen made her lay the bag on the ground. In clearing the explosive device, the officer of the Federal Security Service, Georgy Trofimov was killed.
