In the Sea of Japan Russian sailors saved the crew of a South-Korean motor ship, which was aflame.
As RIA Novosti was told in the Vladivostok sea rescue-coordinating centre on Tuesday, the Dae Wong motor ship caught fire on Monday night, when the vessel was in the open sea near the South-Korean island of Ullungdo. A signal of distress was aired.
The crew of the Russian cargo motor ship Ice Princess of the Arctic Sea Shipping Line was the first to come to help the sailors of the ship aflame.
The whole crew of 9 was evacuated from the South-Korean craft to the Russian motor ship. The rescued sailors were turned over to a South-Korean ship, which approached the scene of distress. By that time the motor ship was completely destroyed by fire.
The Russian motor ship with the cargo is now heading to Slavyanka port of the Maritime Territory (Russia's Far East).
