Arrest of Maskhadov's Interpol-wanted courier

Maskhadov's courier Abuyazid Abdulkhalimov, born in 1969, who had been wanted by the Interpol as a member of fighter gangs in Chechnya, was detained by police in the Naur district, said the regional counter-terrorist operations headquarters in the North Caucasus.

There is evidence that Abdulkhalimov performed Aslan Maskhadov's assignment to maintain close links with drug dealers and to spread drugs among young people.

The detainee was wanted by Kazakhstan's Kustanai law enforcers for crimes connected with illicit drug trade, reports the headquarters.

Information on the arrested man has been dispatched to the initiator of this search in Kazkahstan.
