Passenger bus blown up near Grozny's central bus station

A passenger bus has been blown up near Grozny's central bus station, the Chechen Interior Ministry has informed RIA Novosti.

The information has been confirmed to RIA Novosti by Chechen Prosecutor Vladimir Kravchenko. "The explosion happened at about 9.30, Moscow time. We have preliminary information concerning casualties, but more precise information will be announced later," Kravchenko stated.

According to the Prosecutor, an operative group is working at the site.

On the same day another terrorist act was prevented in Grozny's Sadovaya Street, a traffic road for passenger busses, the Interior Ministry told RIA Novosti.

According to the Ministry, the terrorist act was prevented with the help of a bus driver, "who saw two suspicious men in a Zhiguli car on the Sadovaya street earlier this morning".

Sappers of the Russian Interior Ministry, who had arrived at the explosion site, found an explosive at the roadside. "The fougasse consisted of 82 mm shell and a fuse. The bomb was disposed. The investigation is underway.
