Seven Taleban militants, including an al-Qaeda contact, Mullah Janan, have been arrested in the Afghan city of Kandahar, the former headquarters of the Taleban regime, the Doon newspaper reported on Monday referring to a Kabul statement by Afghan Foreign Minister Dr Abdullah.
According to the Afghan foreign minister, the militants were preparing an act of sabotage in a densely populated quarter of Kandahar.
Chief of the province's police General Mohammad Akram said that explosives had been confiscated from the arrestees.
