The Institute of Civil Aviation is investigating the engine of Domodedovskiye Avialinii aircraft company's plane which made a crash landing in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky airport.
The engineers representing the company and the Rybinskiye Motory plant, who arrived in Kamchatka (the peninsula in the north-east of the Asian part of Russia) last Wednesday, believed it inexpedient to fly with such faults, since the destruction of the fourth engine led to the disrepair of the third one.
The flight will leave the peninsula after when the two new engines are delivered and installed.
The damaged engine will be investigated, with the participation of experts from the Research Institute of Civil Aviation, either at the Rybinskiye Motory producer plant or at Vnukovsky Aircraft Repair plant No. 400 where its latest repair was made. At 16.00, local time on Sunday, the IL-62 of Domodedovskiye Avialinii, which left Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky for Moscow, made an emergency landing because of the damage of the fourth engine when gaining height. A total of 174 passengers were on board the plane, including 37 children.
The landing was successful, nobody suffered.
