A land mine exploded today 50 metres away from the central stadium Dinamo in Grozny at 10.15 Moscow time, injuring a policeman's limb.
Earlier, gala celebrations were to be held at that stadium to mark the Victory Day. But yesterday the organisers of the event cancelled the celebrations in view of a possible terrorist threat. Nonetheless, a lot of people gathered today at the stadium.
To mark the occasion, horse racing will be held in Gudermes, the second largest city of Chechnya; a military parade will be organised at Severny airport; and veterans of the Great Patriotic War will be presented with Oka cars in the governmental complex area.
